2008 is an exciting time for us here at THE FRIDGE as we consider we have turned a very big corner at the end of 2007 when we sold our Westbourne shop in Bournemouth. My aim is to concentrate on the Dorchester store and enlarge , improve and fine tune the range of quality products we have to offer.

For those who have not had the pleasure of shopping in The Fridge of Dorchester it is often likened to an Aladdins cave crammed full of specialist foods not found in a supermarket.
From local produce sourced right here in Dorset to a range of exciting and unique produce from around the globe.
Cheese is probably are biggest area in which we specialise as we stock over 100 cheeses from Dorset Blue Vinny the local unpasteurised famous blue cheese to Gjetost a norweigan caramelised mix of goats and cows milk. With approximately 10 goats cheeses and 6 sheeps cheeses always in stock and around another 50 we can order in those who are intolerant to cows milk or dairy are really spoilt for choice with alternatives.
Cheddar is pretty much the staple diet when it comes to an englishman and his cheese and we dont dissappoint there as we stock over 8 varieties of good english cheddar. Dorset plays host to 5 of our cheddars as we are firm believers of keeping food miles to a minimum!!
Basically whatever cheese you are looking for can be sourced by us either for next day delivery or often within a week if it is a little more complex. But more often than not the products are in stock right here in store!
THE SHOP IN DORCHESTER WAS NAMED TUDOR HAMS WHEN I BOUGHT IT OVER 13 YEARS AGO AND HAMS ARE SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE CONTINUED TO SPECIALISE IN OVER THE LAST 13 YEARS!
COOKED TO THE SAME RECIPE AS BACK THEN OUR GAMMONS ARE TRADITIONAL IN EVERY WAY! Maintaining that dry texture that is typical of a home cooked product not wet and plasticky like the supermarket equivalents. We truly beleive as do our regular customers that you will not taste a better product when it comes to cooked gammon ham!!
We are rapidly becoming well known for bespoke hampers and each Christmas brings in more and more orders. We specialise in producing Hampers designed to your exact requirements. From a hamper full of only Dorset cheeses to a Hamper packed full of only Italian goodies , we can produce a hamper of any size shape or cost to suit the recipients preferred palate.
A hamper is a fabulous present for anybody to receive as it is like getting lots of little presents inside one big one. We know what it is like when you get a hamper with a few things in that are no good to anybody and we do not beleive in packing anybody off with general "filler" products in a hamper.
In store at Dorchester you can carefully select which goods you want included as you have a better idea of the person receiving it and we will pack it one of our handmade luxury baskets , cellophane it and ribbon it accordingly.
